Sigma had been using their Pick-to-Light system for 14 years. But growth of the business and changing demands meant that it was time for an upgrade. Dematic’s modernisation team reviewed a number of options with Sigma, including going entirely paperless, however Sigma’s order profile showed that the best solution was to extend the application of Pick-to-Light in the facility, and improve processes by introducingVoice-directed picking.

Dematic implemented the upgrade whilst Sigma continued to operate in the DC, making sure that they were able to continue trading and meeting customer requirements. The result was an updated system, enhanced flexibility for peak periods, improved productivity, accuracy and operations reporting, and a seamless transition for Sigma’s customers.
